Course Overview

Tribal Nation emergency managers are facing many challenges and obstacles to implementing emergency management programs. This awareness level course is designed to outline strategies and resources for establishing an effective emergency management program. This course will explore emergency management program standards, best
practices, funding resources, methods for qualifying for grants, framework for understanding FEMA doctrine and guidance, and other available training opportunities for Tribal Nations. Upon completing this course, participants will receive references containing lists of these resources, strategies that Tribal Nations have used to successfully implement emergency management programs, and a better understanding how an emergency management
framework can enhance Tribal Nation readiness and resilience.

Target Audience

Course Scope

The target audience consists of those responsible for establishing and implementing Tribal Government emergency management programs. This may include
emergency managers, Tribal Government department leaders, and responders
